Phil Vickery's Biscuit Cake

Here is my version of Prince William's favourite cake (apparently).

  • 225g rich tea biscuits
  • 115g salted butter
  • 3 rounded tbsp cocoa powder
  • 55g castor sugar
  • 2 heaped tbsp golden syrup
  • 115g plain chocolate

  1. Place biscuits into a plastic food bag and lightly crush.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the cocoa, sugar and syrup.
  3. Add the crushed biscuits and melted chocolate and mix well.
  4. Spoon the mixture into an 8" cake tin lined with baking parchment.
  5. Chill well.
  6. Decorate as you wish - melted chocolate or a dusting of icing sugar.

We have updated the recipe, sorry for the confusion.

Came across this recipe but, as the previous Vicky states in her comments last July, some major ingredients mentioned in the method are not mentioned in the list of ingredients - pity nobody has bothered to respond Vicky or update the recipe. So, without knowing the type and quantity of biscuits to use and how much butter etc, I have to give this recipes miss. I have noticed the same problem with some of the other recipes on this site.

Absolutely loved the look of this recipe on the programme recently but forgot to write it down. Sadly the menu above doesn't seem to give all the ingredients and measurements above. Please help a chocoholic and hopefully let me know the full menu for the Chocolate Biscuit Cake. thanks Vicky
